Short Bio: I was born and raised here in Michigan and have been working in the traffic operations and safety field for roughly 8 years. In 2012 I graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. The first several years of my career was spent in northern Michigan as the traffic and safety engineer for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). While in northern Michigan, I also became very involved in traffic incident management which ultimately led me to my dream job. Then in April of 2018, I was promoted to my current position as the Statewide Transportation Operations Center (STOC) Operations Engineer for MDOT. STOC is located in Lansing Michigan and covers 66 counties across the state. We focus on MDOT’s goals of incident management, crash reduction, traveler information, and congestion reduction. STOC provides motorists with real-time travel information and partners with emergency responders to provide response services to traffic crashes, saving lives, time, and money. I also oversee/manage MDOT’s Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) software which currently runs all four of MDOT’s TOC’s and MDOT’s ITS assets. In 2018, I received the MDOT Directors Award which is the Departments highest honor for outstanding public service.
