State Traffic Standards Engineer
Oregon Department of Transportation
Short Bio: I have been working in the transportation engineering industry for 27 years and have been at the Oregon Department of Transportation for 22 of them. As technology changes my job keeps changing as we design and operate our transportation system to accommodate 21st century technology. The Oregon Department of Transportation hired me back in 1997 to help develop advanced highway safety network screening processes. Since then I have held various positions in research and traffic engineering where I’m currently leading a team of 14 engineers setting statewide standards for traffic engineering. Prior to my 22 year career at the Oregon Department of Transportation I worked for both the Washington State Department of Transportation and Pierce County in Seattle and Tacoma respectively. I am a proud Civil Engineering graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle and am surrounded by women at home with my wife Lauren of 27 years and 6 daughters which explains why I no longer have any hair on the top of my head.
