Operations Academy was a great place to learn, meet others, and be reminded that there are many outstanding people across the country that are working hard every day to make sure America keeps moving. Because of the interaction with my peers and with instructors, I heard many new and better ways of doing things and have joined a network of professionals who are willing to help.
There was so much information but hearing what others are doing is invaluable. I already felt like I had a good understanding of TSMO but taking this, really opened my eyes to a whole new world.
Honestly the biggest thing has been confidence. It’s said that you get from life as much as you put in, and despite feeling nervous about being much younger and earlier on in my career than the rest of the class, I tried my best to put my ideas and myself out there. I found that people from many different backgrounds valued and engaged with my input, and it’s given me the sense that I might have a lot more to contribute than I thought I did. Thank you all for giving us the chance to come from all over the country and talk about the work we’re passionate about!
I gained a deeper and more strategic understanding of TSMO. The program helped me connect theory to practice through hands-on exercises, peer collaboration, and exposure to real-world case studies.The insights and tools I’ve taken from the program will support more informed planning, foster innovation, and strengthen our ability to deliver safe and efficient transportation solutions.

I look forward to applying these lessons to enhance team engagement, improve communication, and make more data-driven decisions.
The Operations Academy program has provided me with a well-rounded TSMO education. The lessons and experience I have learned have been extremely valuable and have given me the confidence to take on more responsibility within my agency and be a more capable TSMO advocate. Additionally, the networking and relationships I built with my peers are invaluable.
Understanding that a lot of agencies experience similar pain points and access to a valuable peer network were fantastic aspects of the program.
